Advanced nanofactories can assemble a spy drone on demand which can then be remotely controlled by the agent until released or destroyed, at which point a new drone will be assembled. Further upgrades equip the spy drone with better armour and a one-shot EMP attack.

Canister details

Spy Drone is one of the options from an Augmentation Canister, together with Aggressive Defense System. There are three canisters containing these in the game.

It takes up the Cranial slot. The alternative is Aggressive Defense System.

Augmentation details

This augmentation allows you to activate and control a remote spy drone, which can fly around while you hide in the shadows. It can also be detonated to release an EMP blast.

Every level increases the speed of the drone and the size of the EMP blast.

After a spy drone is destroyed, it takes 30 seconds before you can use a new one.

Usage and strategy

The energy rate is very high for this augmentation, making levels 1 and 2 fairly useless because they are rather slow. Level 3, or even better, level 4 of the spy drone are excellent for taking out enemy bots and other electronics without having to use an EMP Grenade or EMP Pistol. The Power Recirculator is almost essential for this augmentation, since it reduces the cost drastically, allowing you to use the spy drone a lot more effectively. Of course, the spy drone is just a fancy EMP grenade with eyes, so if you have plenty of EMP grenades then this aug can be fairly useless.
