The Character

Jonas is very full of himself, and seems to believe he is the most brilliant person alive. As such you can always flatter him to get him to give you some extra goodies if you're allied to PDX. He is also, however, a coward, and can be easily bullied if you encounter him in the WorldCorp storyline.

Role on ForumPlanet

Jonas Waever formed WorldCorp together with Scara B. King to work on nano-augmentations. After being disgruntled with Scara's lack of morals, he left and decided to work for himself. After several threats, Jonas sought protection in the PlanetDeusEx HQ where he was allowed to establish a laboratory in exchange for the use of his augmentations.

Role in Game

In the PDX storyline, Jonas will give the player augmentations, augmentation upgrades and Bioelectric Cells. He will also give information about his experiments with Andreus, guiding you on in a subquest involving Black ICE. Furthermore, he's the only person in the PDX HQ that the player can knock out (but not kill) without getting Kashue worked up, as everybody hates him.

In the WorldCorp storyline, you can threaten Jonas when invading the PDX HQ, and he will hilariously try to defend himself. It's up to you whether or not to let him live, though if you kill him you can find aug upgrades on his body, and ZeroPresence will give you a candy bar on Day 2 (if you can find Zero and complete his mission, that is). If your inventory is full when you talk to ZP, you will get a few credits instead.

Jonas also has a secret conversation if summoned with cheats in DXI.

Locations

During the entire game, you can find him in his make-shift lab inside the PDX HQ.

The Developer

Jonas Wæver is one of the most passionate of the TNM developers, and most certainly also the most active. It would be rare not to see him wandering around the forums, responding to questions asked by the community, giving witty comments, and assuring everyone the next version will contain even less bugs.

Also, he is very active here on the wiki, making this specific page very likely to be subject to thorough censoring ;-)

Fortunately, he doesn't seem to be such an annoying person in real life as he is in the game...
