Augmentation Canister

An augmentation canister teems with nanoscale mecanocarbon ROM modules suspended in a carrier serum. When injected into a compatible host subject, these modules augment an individual with extra-sapient abilities. However, proper programming of augmentations must be conducted by a medical robot, otherwise terminal damage may occur. For more information, please see 'Face of the New Man' by Kelley Chance.

List of Augmentation Canisters

The following augmentation canisters are available in the game:

1. Microfibral Muscle / Combat Strength
2. Aqualung / Environmental Resistance
3. EMP Shield / Ballistic Protection
4. Cloak / Radar Transparency
5. Speed Enhancement / Run Silent
6. Aggressive Defense System / Spy Drone
7. Regeneration / Energy Shield
8. Power Recirculator / Synthetic Heart
9. Targeting / Vision Enhancement

There are a total of 24 canisters in the game, but you cannot acquire all of them because you can't do all storylines at once.

When you install an augmentation, it starts at level 1. You can upgrade these with Augmentation Upgrade Canisters up to level 4 for most augmentations. The only exception is the synthetic heart, which can only be level 1.

Locations

1. In Phasmatis' Apartment, you get it as a gift at the start of the game. It's in the safe in Phasmatis' bedroom.
2. Can be found in three locations.
   • In Sol's Bar and Grille, Kunio Kun sells it.
   • In WC secret basement, in the large closet near the scientist, shortly before the entrance to mainframe.
   • At Aunt Betty Industries, you get it as a reward for freeing a skinner in the factory.
3. Can be found in two locations.
   • In the PDX HQ, you get it from Jonas as a reward for saving Silver Dragon, or during the WC storyline you can steal this one when you enter there.
   • In the WC HQ on the fourth floor. You get it from Scara B. King as a reward for killing Silver Dragon.
4. Can be found five times.
   • In the WC HQ Nanotech labs on the third floor. If allied with WorldCorp you get one from DP because he thinks you're someone else. If PDX, you can find it on his body if you kill or knock him out.
   • In Despot's Apartment, you can find one in a box hidden in a small room below Despot
   • In the PDX HQ, you can get one from Jonas as a reward for handling DXO. Or you could acquire it yourself before you've done that. Jonas won't be happy, though.
   • In the Air-Traffic Control Tower level there is one in a hidden safe in a shop outside the ATC perimeter.
   • Pimp-Jojo gives you either this one or #7 or #9 as a reward for bugging the servers in the DXI ruins.
5. Can be found twice.
   • In the PDX HQ, you get this one from Jonas after you've planted spyware in the WC HQ server room.
   • When you've acquired the DXO newsscript, Scara gives you this one as a reward.
6. Can be found three times.
   • In the OSC, there's one hidden in a crate, heavily protected by a lot of mines. Near the beginning of the OSC level, go right instead of left to go to the room where it's hidden.
   • In the NSC, there's one in a box in the meeting room on the Executive Offices level.
   • In the DX Editing building, there's one hidden in a locked container in the storage area.
7. Can be found three times.
   • It's found in a locked container in the tunnels under the Llama Temple.
   • It's hidden under the fountain in the Goat Templae(TM).
   • Pimp-Jojo gives you either this one or #4 or #9 as a reward for bugging the servers in the DXI ruins.
8. Can be found three times.
   • In the Llama Temple, you get it as a reward from Beefman for draining the melk(TM).
   • In Goat City, you get one as a reward from Dark Templar for destroying the tablets hidden beneath the Llama Temple.
   • Inside ABI's office building, it is hidden inside a locked container.
9. Can be found twice.
   • In the DXI A51b complex, it is guarded by a DXI Small Security Bot, laser tripwires, and a glass casing.
   • Pimp-Jojo gives you either this one or #4 or #7 as a reward for bugging the servers in the DXI ruins.

Note: You can kill Pimp-Jojo when he offers you the reward to get all 3 canisters from him. Best would be to do so after getting one, as the 1000 credits also given then will not be on his corpse. But that would be mean. Knock him out cold instead.
